Skoda has revealed early details about the next-generation Octavia, confirming that the model will arrive as a fully electric vehicle built on Volkswagen’s new SSP platform—the same base as the upcoming electric Golf.
The new Skoda Octavia EV will feature a sportier design line, while still offering the versatility that has made the Octavia one of the brand’s most successful models. Skoda promises more space for passengers and luggage, addressing one of the biggest demands from family and fleet buyers.
Sustainable and minimalist interior
The cabin of the new Octavia has been redesigned with a minimalist aesthetic that integrates recyclable materials, balancing comfort with a stronger focus on environmental sustainability. The goal is to deliver a cleaner, smarter driving environment without losing the practicality that Octavia owners expect.
Cutting-edge EV technology
Perhaps the biggest leap forward is the inclusion of 800-volt charging technology, enabling much faster recharging compared to current models. This addition places the Octavia alongside premium EV competitors while keeping Skoda’s reputation for value intact.
Skoda says the Octavia EV will coexist with hybrid versions, ensuring buyers have multiple options during the transition to full electrification.
Market arrival
While an exact launch date hasn’t been confirmed, the next-generation Octavia EV is expected to hit the market within the next few years, signaling Skoda’s commitment to electrification as part of the Volkswagen Group’s wider shift toward clean mobility.
The Skoda Octavia EV looks set to combine sustainability, practicality, and advanced charging tech—factors that could help it remain a top choice in Europe’s competitive family car market.
