Ducati DesertX V2 in Testing
The upcoming Ducati DesertX V2 has been spotted on test rides, giving enthusiasts their first glimpse of the next-generation adventure bike. The Italian motorcycle manufacturer is preparing to replace the current DesertX’s 937cc Testastretta with a new 890cc V2 engine, already seen on the Multistrada V2 series. This move signals Ducati’s intent to combine lighter weight with enhanced performance for its adventure lineup.
According to initial reports, the 890cc unit produces 115.6 hp at 10,750 rpm and 92.1 Nm at 8,250 rpm. That’s an improvement over the current DesertX’s 110 hp at 9,250 rpm, while maintaining similar torque figures. The engine itself is around 5.8 kg lighter, and Ducati is expected to cut additional weight through a redesigned chassis, similar to the 18 kg reduction achieved on the Multistrada V2.

The Ducati DesertX V2 retains the familiar silhouette of its predecessor but introduces subtle refinements. Spy shots reveal a revised tail section, updated swingarm, and a taller windscreen.
